Province Focuses on Finding Families of 6.25 War Casualties through Civil-Military Collaboration
Jeonbuk Province announced on the 26th that it held an event to remember the sacrifices and contributions of the veterans under the slogan "Respect and Gratitude for the Great Sacrifice" in commemoration of the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War.
The event, held the previous day at Jeonju N Tower Convention, was attended by over 200 people including Korean War veterans, their bereaved families, Governor Kim Kwan-young, heads of veterans' organizations, heads of institutions and organizations, and residents of the province.
On the 25th, the '73rd Anniversary of the Korean War' event hosted by Jeonbuk Province was held at Jeonju N Tower Convention.

The event began with Part 1, a Security Resolution Meeting and a consolation performance, followed by Part 2, the main ceremony, which proceeded in the order of ▲National Ceremony ▲Uniform Wearing Ceremony ▲Awards for Meritorious Persons ▲Congratulatory Address ▲Korean War Song Chorus.
A member of the Korean War veterans who participated in the Uniform Wearing Ceremony said, "I am deeply grateful to receive new uniforms filled with the nation's respect and gratitude for the veterans who risked their lives to protect the country during the Korean War."
In his congratulatory address, Governor Kim said, "We will engrave in our hearts the dedication of the Korean War veterans who sacrificed to protect the freedom of the Republic of Korea," adding, "Respect and the highest honor for the national veterans and their families who rebuilt the Republic of Korea from ruins and contributed to its development is the responsibility of all of us living today."
Meanwhile, the province is conducting a "Public-Private-Military Collaboration to Intensively Locate Families of Korean War Fallen Soldiers" throughout June, the Month of National Defense and Veterans Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of National Defense's Remains Recovery and Identification Team.

Families of Korean War fallen soldiers are encouraged to visit their nearest eup, myeon, or dong office and participate actively by providing DNA samples so that the recovered remains can be returned to their families.
