Kakao and Ministry of SMEs and Startups Hold 'Payment Linked Pricing Roadshow'
Kakao held the 'Payment Linked Pricing Roadshow' on the 22nd at the Kakao Pangyo Office in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. As the first platform company to participate as a partner company in the payment linked pricing system, Kakao has decided to further strengthen efforts to establish a culture of win-win transactions starting from this roadshow.
The event was attended by Ministry of SMEs and Startups officials including Lee Dae-hee, Director of the Small Business Policy Office, and Noh Hyung-seok, Head of the Unfair Trade Improvement Division, as well as Kakao’s Chief Compliance Officer Jo Seok-young, employees from Kakao Mobility and Kakao Pay, and partner companies.
The payment linked pricing system was established to eradicate unfair trade practices and promote mutual growth between primary contractors and subcontractors. It primarily involves adjusting payment prices linked to fluctuations in the prices of major raw materials when such prices change beyond a certain threshold during subcontracting transactions. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is conducting roadshows to expand participating companies ahead of the implementation of the revised Win-Win Cooperation Act scheduled for October.
Kakao has been participating as a pilot company in the operation of this system since September last year to strengthen mutual growth and cooperation with various business partners, including small and medium IT companies, and received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups. Kakao Mobility, one of Kakao’s major affiliates, also decided to participate in May. Kakao Pay expressed its intention to join as a partner company starting from this roadshow.
