Installation of Basic Number Plates with QR Codes on Bicycle Paths
Basic Number Plates on Bicycle Paths Get Smarter, "Scan the QR Code"
Dongdaemun-gu Installs Basic Number Plates with QR Codes at 35 Locations on Seongbukcheon and Jeongneungcheon Bicycle Paths
QR Codes Also Registered on Basic Number Plates Installed Last Year on Jungnangcheon West Bicycle Path... Enhancing Resident Safety
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) has installed ‘basic number plates’ equipped with QR codes on bicycle paths within the district to ensure residents' safety.
Basic number plates are address information facilities installed to indicate the location of a point based on the basic number assigned at regular intervals along road sections, especially in places without buildings or on streetlights and traffic lights near the road.
The district newly installed basic number plates with QR codes at 35 locations on the Seongbukcheon and Jeongneungcheon bicycle paths, and also registered QR codes on 76 basic number plates installed last year on the Jungnangcheon West bicycle path.
In case of an emergency, by scanning the QR code registered on the basic number plate with a smartphone camera, the current location is automatically displayed on the mobile device without the need to dial a phone number or enter a message, allowing for easy and faster reporting and response.
