Conducting Pumped Storage Power Plant Attraction Challenge
On the 21st, Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, held a pumped-storage power plant attraction challenge in collaboration with the June Safety Inspection Day campaign at Hyundonggyo Bridge in Yeongyang-eup, jointly conducted by civilian, government, military, police, and fire departments.

View original imageAbout 50 participants, including Yeongyang County Office, Yeongyang Police Station, Yeongyang 119 Safety Center, Yeongyang Reserve Forces Company, Yeongyang Volunteer Fire Brigade Association, Yeongyang Safety Guards, and Water Play Safety Keepers, promoted water play safety rules. With the cooperation of Yeongyang 119 Safety Center, they also had a session to learn how to use an automated external defibrillator. Additionally, a county-wide participation challenge was held to express hope for attracting the pumped-storage power plant to Yeongyang-gun, which received enthusiastic responses from attendees.
The pumped-storage power plant is planned to be located in Yonghwa-ri, Iwol-myeon, Yeongyang-gun. If finally confirmed, approximately 2 trillion KRW of national funds will be invested, which will not only revitalize the local economy of Yeongyang-gun but also attract many tourists annually, establishing itself as an excellent model to revive local governments facing extinction threats.
