July 1 Opening of 3 Water Playgrounds Including Wonho Forest Park
2.5 Billion KRW Invested by 2024, 3 Additional Water Playgrounds Planned
This summer, expected to bring unprecedented heatwaves, Gumi City will open water play areas at three urban parks, including Wonho (Munjanggol) Forest Park and Sandong Mulbit Park, from July 1 to September 3. These facilities will operate daily from 1:00 PM to 5:40 PM to provide citizens with cool and comfortable resting places.
Additionally, 18 fountains in urban parks such as Hyeonggok Park and Bonggok Theme Park will be activated from June 24 to September 3, starting a week earlier than last year. The operation of water play areas and fountains will be flexibly adjusted depending on weather conditions such as rain.
The city plans to conduct regular water quality tests, cleaning, and disinfection of the water play areas to prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases among users. Safety management personnel will be assigned separately at each water play area to make every effort to prevent safety accidents.
