Samhwa Paint Targets Summer Market with Heat-Reflective Paint
Samwha Paint Industrial announced on the 20th that it will target the functional paint market in summer with energy-saving heat-reflective paint.
Recently, due to abnormal weather and rising energy costs, consumer interest in heat-reflective paint has increased. Heat-reflective paint is an essential summer paint that reflects solar heat to prevent surface temperature rise and blocks heat transmission inside, minimizing energy costs such as cooling expenses.
Samwha Paint has developed the architectural heat-reflective and waterproof paint "Cool&Save" and the floor and road heat-reflective paint "Byroad Cool." Cool&Save contains special pigments with heat-blocking effects. When applied to rooftops and exterior walls, it can reduce the exterior wall temperature, which rises up to 50~60℃ in summer, by up to 40%. Cool&Save Aqua Waterproof is an eco-friendly water-based heat-reflective waterproofing material. It is an effective waterproof product that prevents damage caused by heat and monsoon rains and reduces energy consumption. It has received certification from the U.S. energy-saving coating specialist certification body CRRC (Cool Roof Rating Council), recognizing its energy-saving effects.
Byroad Cool is a methyl methacrylate (MMA) type paint applied with special pigments that reflect infrared rays.
According to tests conducted by the Korea Conformity Laboratories, the reflectance in the infrared range was 28% higher than that of general MMA paint (33.7%), and the surface temperature was up to 18.8℃ lower compared to general asphalt and concrete roads. Along with heat-reflective functionality, it has good slip resistance and durability. When used in parking lots, school zones, bus stops, vehicle and bicycle roads, and parks, it can protect citizens' safety while providing heat-reflective effects and reduce maintenance costs.
