Jangseong-gun and Sangmudae Join Hands for 'Win-Win Cooperation'... Sharing Key Projects

Jangseong-gun in Jeollanam-do and Sangmudae have joined hands for mutual cooperation.

The county recently held a meeting with Sangmudae catering officials, including those from the Infantry School, Artillery School, Mechanized School, Engineer School, Service Support Group, and the 57th Information and Communication Battalion, the county announced on the 19th.

At the meeting held in the training room on the 2nd floor of the advanced Jangseong Local Food Direct Store, the officials shared Jangseong-gun's key projects and jointly explored ways for Sangmudae's catering business and regional coexistence.

In particular, they focused on discussing ways to ensure the smooth supply of safe Jangseong-produced food to Sangmudae through the activation of the Jangseong-gun Public Catering Support Center, scheduled for completion in July.

The Jangseong-gun Public Catering Support Center is an integrated logistics facility that supplies local food to schools and welfare facility catering. It is expected to become a hub for supplying agricultural products from the Jangseong area.

Sangmudae, located in Jangseong-gun, is the largest Army military education facility with about 35,000 personnel. The catering demand generated is expected to greatly contribute to expanding the market for local agricultural products.

After the meeting, Sangmudae officials visited the construction site of the Jangseong-gun Public Catering Support Center to hear about the progress of the construction and operational plans.

They also visited the Samgye Nonghyup Agricultural Product Distribution Center and the Samseo Nonghyup Military Catering Local Food Support Center to observe the hygienic supply process of food harvested from production areas.

Kim Han-jong, the county governor, said, “Through the successful operation of the Public Catering Support Center, we plan to promote the consumption of local agricultural products to open markets for farmers and provide fresh food to military units. We will accelerate agricultural development by actively cooperating with Sangmudae.”
