Yoon Seokdae, New President of K-Water, "Will Prioritize Protecting Citizens' Safety from Climate Disasters"
Inauguration Ceremony of the 16th President of Sugong on the 19th
Yoon Seok-dae, the newly appointed president of Korea Water Resources Corporation, stated on the 19th, "Our top priority is to protect the lives, safety, and property of the people from climate disasters, and to move forward into a new era of water that leads the Republic of Korea's leap forward."
President Yoon expressed this ambition during his inauguration ceremony held at the headquarters auditorium in Daejeon on the same day.
At the inauguration, President Yoon strongly urged the corporation to actively respond to rapidly changing global circumstances such as the climate crisis, eco-friendly transitions, and the reorganization of the global order, and to innovate qualitatively. Above all, he identified "water management that protects the lives, safety, and property of the people from intensifying climate disasters" as the top priority.
President Yoon emphasized, "With the deepening climate crisis, unprecedented disasters are occurring, and protecting the lives, safety, and property of the people from these is the corporation's foremost task. In a situation where water management has become crucial, let us open a new era of water with the changes and innovations that the people desire."
He continued, "We must discover high value-added water industries such as ultrapure water, seawater desalination, water reuse, and thermal energy, and actively enter overseas water markets, creating sustainable growth engines in cooperation with the private sector. Beyond water management, we will redefine the corporation's role and status as a global company for the Republic of Korea's economic leap forward," he said.
Along with this, President Yoon pledged to open a new era that harmonizes public interest and efficiency in line with the government's national philosophy. He stated, "We will strengthen the foundation to harmonize public interest and efficiency by solving national water issues such as drought and water quality, realizing water welfare in underserved areas, and through digital transformation, research and development (R&D), and improving financial soundness. Labor and management must work together to open a new era of water by forming a company-wide committee for organizational innovation," he said.
