Hwang Bo-seung-hee "Leaving People Power Party with Spirit of Putting Nation Before Party... Will Not Run in General Election"
Hwang Bo-seung-hee, a member of the People Power Party who has been embroiled in controversy over allegations of illegal political fund acceptance and an extramarital affair, announced that she will leave the party and not run in next year's general election.
On the 19th, Hwang Bo-seung-hee said through her social media (SNS), "To the respected and beloved residents of Jung-gu and Yeongdo-gu, party members, comrades, and the people! First, I sincerely apologize with a bowed head for causing great concern due to my recent family matters and police investigation."
She expressed, "I am deeply sorry once again to the beloved residents of Jung-gu and Yeongdo-gu who have raised me over the past 20 years," and "I apologize again to the wonderful people I have met through 24 years of party life, the senior and fellow lawmakers who are striving to restore common sense and fairness in the Republic of Korea, and to party members and comrades."
She added, "I will humbly let go of everything, take full responsibility for all the criticism directed at me, and reflect deeply with a more humble attitude. I will prioritize the livelihood of the people and devote all my efforts until the end for the success of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the future of the Republic of Korea," and "Above all, I will live a life dedicated to my two daughters who have been hurt because of their flawed parent."
