Government Expands Welfare Application Projects from 45 to 50 Types
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 19th that the number of services available for application through the government-operated comprehensive welfare service portal site ‘Bokjiro’ will be expanded from 45 to 50.
The additional services include parent counseling support for individuals with developmental disabilities, home and nursing care visit support, and emergency activity support within disability activity assistance. Previously, applicants had to visit the eup/myeon/dong community service centers in person to apply for these services, which caused significant inconvenience. From now on, applications can be made by logging in to Bokjiro using a joint or financial certificate or simple authentication.
Jeon Byeongwang, Director of Social Welfare Policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, stated, “In particular, welfare services supporting developmental disabilities and home nursing care are expected to be used frequently by those who find direct application difficult,” and added, “We expect that this online expansion will improve access to welfare.”
