KT Signs MOU with Samsung Seoul Hospital for Joint Medical AI Research
KT announced on the 18th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Samsung Seoul Hospital for the global expansion of Korean medical services and joint research on medical artificial intelligence (AI).
The main contents of the agreement include establishing a partnership for the global expansion of the K-medical system, digital healthcare-based patient follow-up management, and joint research on medical AI utilizing big data.

View original imageAccording to the agreement, both parties will cooperate in establishing a health screening center in Hanoi, Vietnam, planned by KT for next year. Samsung Seoul Hospital will provide local institution consultation and consulting based on its domestic expertise. Additionally, it plans to assist with local medical staff training, follow-up care such as transferring severe patients with abnormal findings detected at the screening center, and secondary opinion requests and responses.

Furthermore, KT and Samsung Seoul Hospital will jointly research AI in the fields of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management to assist medical staff decision-making and improve work efficiency. KT will develop algorithms, and Samsung Seoul Hospital will participate in discovering medical AI projects and advancing the algorithms.
