Gyeonggi Office of Education Launches Initiative to Expand Student 'Career Experience and Skilled Techniques'

View original imageThe Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has partnered with the Korea Federation of Skilled Craftsmen to expand students' career and vocational experiences as well as their exposure to skilled techniques.
On the 16th, the Office of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Federation of Skilled Craftsmen to jointly work on enhancing students' understanding and awareness of skilled techniques through ▲supporting student participation in skilled technique mentoring programs ▲collaborating on designating out-of-school educational institutions linked to the high school credit system ▲establishing an infrastructure support system between the two organizations ▲providing scholarships for students to foster skilled craftsmen, the Office announced on the 18th.
Through this agreement, the Office expects that expanding hands-on experience with skilled techniques in industrial sites will increase students' technical understanding and greatly contribute to strengthening and nurturing technical talent.

Superintendent Lim said in his greeting, "A master craftsman is someone whose personal effort and skill are fundamental, and who serves as a role model to many." He added, "With this agreement, I hope our students can learn from the living experiences of master craftsmen, thereby enhancing their technical capabilities."
