The Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 18th at around 12:20 a.m. that they had apprehended a man in his 30s, Mr. A, at a motel in Gangbuk-gu. Mr. A is suspected of killing a woman in her 70s, Ms. B, who lived in the same building, at a multi-family house in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, on the 14th, and setting fire afterward.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly admitted to the charges, stating, "I killed the victim and set the fire after arguing over inter-floor water leakage issues." The police are conducting further investigations into the specific motive and circumstances of the crime and plan to apply for an arrest warrant after the investigation.
