Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo Visits Japan Toray Headquarters with Annual Sales of 25 Trillion Won... Discusses Carbon Fiber Industry
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, visited Toray's Tokyo headquarters and the advanced convergence research institute located in Kamakura over two days from the 16th to the 17th.
During this visit, he met with Kim Jang-ho, Mayor of Gumi City, to discuss the carbon fiber industry and continuous growth strategies for Toray Korea Corporation. Mayor Kim accompanied him, and Governor Lee also met with Akihiro Nikkaku, President of the Japanese Toray Group, and Young-kwan Lee, Chairman of Toray Advanced Materials Korea, along with other executives to discuss the carbon fiber industry and sustainable growth plans for Toray Korea Corporation.

During the meeting, focused discussions were held on the policy direction of Gyeongbuk Province and future growth potential of the carbon fiber industry, a global leading field of the Toray Group, in alignment with the Korean government's top 10 policies for achieving '2050 Carbon Neutrality and Realizing Green Growth.' Topics included popularization of eco-friendly vehicles such as electric and hydrogen cars, expansion of renewable energy ratios, and establishment of a hydrogen economy ecosystem.
