September 6 CSAT Practice Test... Will Difficulty Ease Due to Yoon's Remarks?
Mock Test Scheduled for September 6... Registration Open Until October 6
The September mock exam conducted by the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE) in preparation for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) to be held on November 16 this year will take place on September 6.
On the 19th, KICE announced that applications for the 2024 academic year September mock exam will be accepted from the 26th of this month until the 6th of next month. As the organization responsible for creating the CSAT, KICE conducts mock exams every June and September for test takers to provide an opportunity to assess their academic level and to understand the proficiency of examinees in order to maintain an appropriate difficulty level for the actual CSAT.
The test subjects for this September mock exam will be the same as those for the CSAT in November: Korean, Mathematics, English, Korean History, Inquiry (Social Studies, Science, Vocational Education), and Second Foreign Language/Chinese Characters.
Attention is focused on how the proportion of test takers by elective subjects will change compared to previous years, given the recent continuous rise in the proportion of graduates and the phenomenon of 'science track concentration.'
Earlier, President Yoon Suk-yeol remarked that some CSAT questions with difficulty levels so high that they cannot be considered part of the curriculum are encouraging private education, drawing attention to whether the difficulty of the mock exam will decrease.

President Yoon recently stated that questions from areas not covered in the public education curriculum should be excluded from the CSAT. In response, the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Education explained, "This does not mean that the CSAT should be made easier, but rather emphasizes the principle that questions should be based within the curriculum."
