On the 16th, Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon and An Gyuri, Chairperson of the Rafael Nanum Foundation, signed a "Business Agreement for the Activation of the Academy Project" at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Situation Room, outlining these initiatives.
Governor Kim Dong-yeon emphasized, "The importance of public healthcare has increased due to COVID-19, but I have heard that there are many difficulties not only in the response system but also in the supply and demand of medical personnel. I believe it is very timely and appreciated to work with Rafael Nanum to educate senior doctors, enable them to work, and build a network together."
An Gyuri, Chairperson of the Rafael Nanum Foundation, responded, "Starting with this agreement, I hope that more medical professionals will fulfill their social responsibilities wherever medical care is needed. Rafael Nanum will strive to continuously nurture medical personnel who will provide appropriate healthcare for the future of Gyeonggi Province through various projects."
The Rafael Nanum Foundation currently operates an academy project that provides retraining courses for senior medical professionals who have retired from active practice. Since its launch in 2019, the "Rafael Life and Sharing Senior Academy," now in its fourth year, is a retraining program designed to cultivate senior medical professionals willing to participate in social contribution as volunteers.
Senior medical professionals who complete this training are active as volunteers in medical settings or as educators in their respective fields.
According to the agreement signed on this day, Gyeonggi Province and the Rafael Nanum Foundation will cooperate in various areas, including ▲collaborative operation and promotion of the academy project ▲designation support for training institutions ▲support cooperation for senior medical personnel in the public healthcare sector.
Gyeonggi Province plans to provide opportunities for medical professionals who have completed the Nanum Senior Academy to work at hospitals affiliated with the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.
