20s Taxi Driver Involved in Fatal Drunk Driving Accident Booked
A taxi driver in his 20s who caused a drunk driving accident resulting in one death has been booked by the police.
On the 16th, the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station announced that they had booked taxi driver A, in his 20s, without detention on charges including violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (dangerous driving causing death).
A is suspected of driving under the influence at around 6:35 a.m. at the post office intersection in Sinchang-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, where he collided with a delivery truck, causing the death of B, a man in his 30s.
According to the police investigation, A, who was driving from Singa Middle School toward Sumun Elementary School, ran a red light and collided with B’s truck, which was heading from Bogun University toward Suwan Police Substation.
A’s blood alcohol concentration was at the level warranting license suspension.
