CJ Logistics Signs MOU with Global Shipping Company Evergreen to Secure Competitiveness in Ocean Freight Rates
CJ Logistics has initiated mutual cooperation with Evergreen, a world-renowned shipping company from Taiwan, to revitalize maritime transportation and expand shipping volumes. The two companies plan to create various synergies by providing competitive freight rates for CJ Logistics' container cargo maritime transport and collaborating on joint sales of container cargo transported between Asian and Southeast Asian countries to secure new shipping volumes.

View original imageOn the 16th, CJ Logistics announced that it signed a "Strategic Business Agreement for Global Logistics Revitalization" at Evergreen's headquarters in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
Evergreen, ranked 6th in the world by fleet capacity, is a worldwide shipping company transporting container cargo globally. It belongs to the Evergreen Group, which also includes EVA Air, a Taiwanese airline.
Through the business agreement, the two companies agreed to actively cooperate in providing competitive freight rates and vessel space for container cargo traveling between Asian regions such as Korea, China, and Japan, and regions including the United States and Europe.
They also agreed to collaborate on expanding volumes through joint sales of maritime container cargo between Asia and Southeast Asia. Additionally, they plan to jointly develop value-added services such as end-to-end (E2E) services that provide integrated transportation from the cargo's origin to its destination via land and sea.
After the signing ceremony, Kang Byung-gu, Head of CJ Logistics' Global Division, and Eric Hsieh, President of Evergreen, shared the view to actively cooperate in discovering new business opportunities in the global market and strengthening mutual competitiveness. They also plan to continue positive discussions with high interest in the ESG field, which has become a global standard.
