Gokseong-gun Hosts Cultural Heritage Experience at Jehojeong Old House with Comedian Jeon Yuseong

Enjoying the Beautiful Gokseong Scenery and Encouraging Interest in Traditional Culture

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that it is operating various traditional house programs in the Jehojeong area of Gokseong in collaboration with the Jeollanam-do Jonggahoe Gokseong branch.

This program, promoted as part of the Cultural Heritage Administration's public project '2023 Traditional House and Jongga Utilization Project,' is being held at the Jehojeong traditional house, a national folk cultural asset, and the Hamheojeong area, a tangible cultural asset of Jeollanam-do.

The traditional house and Jongga utilization project, which started in 2020, provides programs that allow easy understanding and experience of the traditional house and Jongga's food, clothing, shelter, and rituals.

The purpose is to induce interest in the gradually disappearing traditional culture and to utilize it as a tourism resource.

This program includes a humanities lecture titled 'Change of Thought' by broadcaster Jeon Yu-seong, along with stories of 21st-century filial piety etiquette from the Gokseong Cheongsong Sim family, who produced the filial daughter Sim Cheong.

Additionally, there are traditional house magic shows and magic experiences conducted by Jeon Yu-seong's magic team, as well as a Pungnyu music concert enjoyed at Hamheojeong.

Moreover, there is time to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Gokseong and reflect on the meaning of traditional culture by exploring Seongryunsa Temple and the Asan Jobangwon Art Museum, representative places of the Honam region.

This year's Gokseong Jehojeong traditional house program consists of a total of 8 sessions, with 3 sessions already completed. The remaining sessions are scheduled for June 17-18, June 24-25, September 2-3, September 9-10, and September 16-17, and will be conducted over 1 night and 2 days.
