KISA Hosts the 10th Software Development Security Competition
The 10th Software Development Security Competition Held
Applications Accepted from the 19th to the 31st of Next Month
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 14th that it will hold the "10th Software Development Security Competition." This event aims to promote the software development security system and discover outstanding future developers. The registration period is from the 19th to the 31st of next month.
The theme of this competition is "A Safe Digital World Opened by Sogoding." Sogoding is an abbreviation for software development security secure coding. Participants must be teams (up to 4 members) composed of university (graduate) students enrolled in domestic universities. The competition is divided into preliminary and final rounds. The 25 teams selected through the preliminary screening will participate in the hackathon final round over two days without overnight stay (August 17?18). Teams that achieve excellent results in the finals will receive certificates (6 from the Minister of the Interior and Safety, 3 from the KISA Director, 3 from the Korea Institute of Information Security & Cryptology President, totaling 12) along with prize money worth a total of 24.5 million KRW.

Choi Kwang-hee, Head of KISA’s Cyber Incident Response Center, said, "Software development security is a method to prevent hacking incidents by eliminating potential software security vulnerabilities and implementing security-conscious functions from the software development stage." He added, "I hope this competition provides students with an opportunity to naturally recognize the importance of security in software development by directly participating in development."
