In Denver, Colorado, USA, a shooting incident occurred amid celebrations after the Denver Nuggets won their first championship in 56 years in the NBA, according to the Associated Press on the 13th (local time).
According to local police, a shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. in downtown Denver, injuring a total of nine people. Among them, three are in critical condition.
The incident happened about 1 mile (approximately 1.6 km) away from the 'Ball Arena,' where Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Nuggets and the Miami Heat was held the previous night.
The police arrested and detained a suspect immediately after the shooting, but the exact circumstances and motive remain unclear.
A police official stated, "The shooting occurred in the area where the largest crowd had gathered overnight to celebrate." Although many people had started heading home as the night went on, there were still many people coming out of bars.
