Boseong-gun Direct Trade Exchange of Fresh Potatoes with Sister City
Seoul, Ulsan, Daegu, and 7 Other Locations Sell 1,243 Boxes
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that from the 9th to the 12th, it supplied its local specialty, ‘Hoecheon New Potatoes,’ to 10 sister cities including Seoul, Daegu, and Ulsan, aiming to promote mutually beneficial exchanges.
Through this direct trade for mutual exchange, 1,243 boxes of ‘Hoecheon New Potatoes’ were traded.
The county is focusing on promoting practical exchanges by publicizing eco-friendly agricultural specialties nationwide and expanding sales channels through various exchange collaborations with other local governments, including cultural events and agricultural product promotion events, to achieve mutual development.
A Boseong-gun official stated, “We will continue to promote direct agricultural product trade with sister cities every year to enhance mutual friendship, secure sales channels for agricultural products, and increase farmers’ income.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun’s Hoecheon ‘Sumi Potato’ is named for its excellent taste, with the characters ‘秀 (Soo)’ meaning excellent and ‘味 (Mi)’ meaning taste. It is versatile for stir-frying, braising, soups, potato chips, mashed potatoes, frying, and more, and is loved by everyone for its uniquely sweet flavor and fluffy texture.
Additionally, grown in the fertile soil of the clean sea breeze of Deukryang Bay, it boasts excellent quality and a mild taste.
