1,000㎡ Children's Water Playground with 5 Water Play Equipment and Deck Rest Area to Open on July 1
Lawn Yard and Rose Garden Expanded, Old Walking Paths Renovated, Approximately 90,000 Trees and Flowers Planted Including Ornamental Trees, Perennials, and Roses
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gijae) announced that the natural learning center in the Anyangcheon Sinjeonggyo~Omokgyo section has been reorganized into the “Anyangcheon Family Garden,” a central themed space featuring a children's water playground and a large lawn yard for the whole family to enjoy, and will be open from this month.
The “Anyangcheon Family Garden” (hereinafter referred to as the Family Garden) is the widest central area among the entire Anyangcheon section managed by the district (Yanghwa Bridge~Ogeum Bridge), covering a total area of 90,000㎡ and including a parking lot with 295 spaces. Previously, it operated as the “Anyangcheon Natural Learning Center,” which included Haemaru Soccer Field and a rose garden, but due to the overall aging of the facilities, the need for redevelopment was raised. Accordingly, the district has been working on improving the space by promoting the “Anyangcheon Family Garden Creation Project” for six months since December last year.
The renovated Family Garden features a newly created 1,000㎡ children's water playground and a deck rest area. In particular, the children's water playground is equipped with five water play facilities including tunnel-type, umbrella, and curved fountains, expected to become a representative summer attraction in Anyangcheon to beat the heat. The district plans to open the children's water playground on July 1, after completing the installation of water facilities and operational reporting procedures, and operate it until August 31. Additionally, during this period, shade tents will be installed in the deck rest area so that children and their guardians can rest away from the sun.
Furthermore, the district expanded the green space next to the water playground by about 1,000㎡, creating a large lawn yard totaling 4,100㎡, optimized as a perfect spot for family outings, scheduled to open on the 17th. Near the lawn yard, a rest area for small and medium-sized dogs will be installed to contribute to the establishment of a mature pet culture.
Moreover, the district expanded and renovated the existing rose garden and ecological wetland, and completely refurbished the old walking paths (5,700㎡). In addition, approximately 13,000 ornamental trees such as Korean dogwood and Nandina, about 70,000 perennials, and 20,000 rose bushes were planted to create a splendid landscape.
