Naju-si Accepting Nominations for 'Citizen's Award' Until the 10th of Next Month
Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 12th that it will accept candidates for the ‘Naju Citizen Award’ in a total of five categories until the 10th of next month.
The award categories are ‘Regional Development,’ ‘Social Welfare,’ ‘Loyalty and Filial Piety,’ ‘Industrial Economy,’ and ‘Education and Culture.’
The city will select one person in each category through a fair and strict evaluation process, honoring citizens who have dedicated themselves to the development of the nation and local community.
Eligible candidates must have their registered domicile or address in Naju City and have lived there for more than one year, with clear achievements in their respective categories.
Recommendations can be made through heads of related institutions, Naju City’s department and division chiefs, and heads of towns, townships, and neighborhoods related to each category’s achievements.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the General Affairs Division of City Hall in person or by registered mail until the 10th of next month.
Application forms, including recommendation letters and achievement reports, can be downloaded from the Notices and Announcements section of the City Hall website.
The Achievement Review Committee for selecting awardees will be composed of up to 15 members, including three city council members and citizens with deep knowledge and experience in each category.
The Citizen Award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the ‘29th Naju Citizen’s Day’ celebration planned for the end of October.
Last year’s Citizen Award recipients included Oh Kyung-gyu, Director of Bitgaram General Hospital, in the Regional Development category; Song Jong-woon, Director of Buhwalui Jip, in the Social Welfare category; and Choi Gong-seop, Chairman of Nampyeong Nonghyup, in the Industrial Economy category.
Since the first award in 1996, the Citizen Award has recognized 38 recipients. The city officially honors the contributions of past awardees by permanently recording and preserving their achievements.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “We ask for the active interest and participation of citizens in discovering proud Naju citizens who have quietly dedicated themselves to regional development, community harmony, welfare enhancement, and the spread of loyalty and filial piety culture.”
