Seongnam City to Clear Abandoned Vehicles by the End of This Month
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a mass cleanup of abandoned vehicles by the end of this month to create a pleasant urban environment and alleviate citizen inconvenience.
The cleanup targets vehicles fixed in a certain location and used for purposes other than driving, as well as motorcycles (two-wheelers) that have been abandoned without justifiable reason on someone else's land, roads, residential areas, or vacant lots for more than two months.
Seongnam City will carry out the mass cleanup by district until the end of June.
The city will attach towing notices to the identified vehicles after comprehensively assessing their condition, abandonment period, statements from nearby residents, and reports. It will track the owners through vehicle registration inquiries and send orders for voluntary disposal within 20 to 30 days.
