Magnitude 6.2 Earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan
At around 6:55 PM on the 11th, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred in Hokkaido, Japan.
The Japan Meteorological Agency explained that there is no concern of a tsunami caused by the earthquake.
The epicenter was located offshore in the Urakawa area, southwest Hokkaido. The depth of the epicenter was 140 meters.
Japan's warning system, the 'Nationwide Instantaneous Warning System,' issued an emergency earthquake alert with a maximum expected seismic intensity of 5 lower shortly after the earthquake occurred. A seismic intensity of 5 lower means most people feel fear, and dishes or books on shelves may fall due to the shaking.

Due to this earthquake, seismic intensities of 4 were observed in Sapporo City, Hokkaido, and 2 in Fukushima Prefecture (northeastern Honshu).
