Yangcheon-gu Recruiting 50 University Students for Summer Vacation Administrative Internships
Recruitment until June 15, administrative work assistance at district office and community centers from July 3 to July 28
‘Policy Experience Classroom’ expanded to two days including tours of major local facilities for all interns
Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it is operating the ‘2023 Summer Vacation University Student Administrative Intern’ program, which provides university students on vacation with opportunities to participate in district administration, experience administrative work, and develop independence, recruiting 50 participants until June 15.
The recruitment target is Yangcheon-gu residents who are currently enrolled or on leave at domestic (specialized) universities. However, those who have participated in this program within the past year, students of broadcast communication universities, cyber universities, computer institutes, specialized schools, academic credit banks, as well as university dropouts, graduates, and graduate students are excluded.
Among the recruits, 15 people (30%) will be given priority selection from the following groups: ▲basic livelihood security recipients and their children ▲North Korean defectors and their children ▲residents of Yangcheon-gu airport noise countermeasure areas (over 15 years) ▲national merit recipients and their children ▲volunteers with outstanding service (over 100 hours of volunteer work in the district within one year).
The working period is from July 3 to July 28, with a 5-day workweek from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The wage is based on the ‘2023 Yangcheon-gu living wage’ rate, paying 55,785 KRW per day, and 1,327,690 KRW for full attendance.
Additionally, the district plans to expand the existing one-day ‘Policy Experience Classroom’ to two days for all administrative interns, including on-site tours of major local facilities and safety experience education necessary for disaster and emergency situations.
Furthermore, a post-work meeting will be held to share work impressions and provide time for communication with the district mayor.
Those wishing to apply for the administrative intern program can submit their applications online through the district office website by June 15. After 6 p.m. on the 15th, a random computer drawing will be conducted, and the final results will be announced on the district office website.
