The two regions have maintained long-term exchanges with the purpose of promoting mutual growth, strengthening the competitiveness of industrial complexes, and enhancing joint benefits through human and technological exchanges among companies residing in the industrial complexes.
A delegation of about 30 companies from the Chungcheong region (Chungnam and Osong) arrived in Gumi on the 9th and visited ATS, a display equipment manufacturing company located in the Gumi National Industrial Complex, for a production line tour. Afterwards, an exchange meeting was held nearby with about 80 participants, including industrial complex company representatives and related institution heads from both regions, providing an opportunity for communication.
Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, “Gumi has a historically significant industrial complex that has led South Korea’s economic growth centered on the electronics industry. Recently, the scope has expanded to include semiconductors, defense, and secondary batteries. Through win-win cooperation with the Chungnam and Osong industrial complexes in the Chungcheong region, I hope for constructive development in both regions.”
