Woori Bank Strengthens Disciplinary Actions on Sexual Violence and Workplace Harassment
A sexual harassment incident occurred within a department at Woori Bank. The perpetrator employee has been confirmed to have received a suspension.
According to a report compiled by Asia Economy on the 7th, Deputy Manager A, affiliated with Woori Bank's Talent Development Center, was caught sexually harassing female Manager B in the same department. After an evening drinking gathering, while heading home, A forcibly harassed B despite her expressing refusal.
Woori Bank held a personnel council meeting in mid-last month and issued a severe disciplinary action of "suspension" to perpetrator A. It is known that the bank took proactive measures upon confirming the sexual harassment facts.
Woori Bank is cracking down on unethical behaviors such as sexual violence and workplace bullying. Around the same time, a department head who ordered holiday work and committed insults and verbal abuse also received a reprimand.
