Dialogue on Practical Cases with Over 80 University Students
First Lady Kim Keon-hee, wife of President Yoon Suk-yeol, attended the launch event of the 'Bye Bye Plastic' campaign on the 5th in celebration of 'World Environment Day,' the presidential office announced in a press release.
The event was organized to raise awareness about the surge in plastic waste following the COVID-19 pandemic and to urge the reduction of plastic consumption in daily life, in line with this year's theme for 'World Environment Day' set by the UN: 'Eliminating Plastic Pollution.'
The event, held at the Korea University SK Future Hall in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, was attended by about 80 students active in environmental clubs from 24 universities nationwide. The program included the introduction of the campaign video and presentations on plastic reduction activities by environmental clubs.
First Lady Kim shared discussions with the students about ways to reduce plastic use in everyday life and examples of individual practices.
