LGU+ Signs Sponsorship Agreement with Gen.G... Collaboration on Content and Character Business
LG Uplus announced on the 4th that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the global esports company Gen. G Esports.
Founded in 2017, the esports team Gen. G is leading the future and transformation of esports centered around the #Tigernation community, where players and fans become one. Gen. G has achieved top accomplishments in various games such as League of Legends (LoL), Valorant, Overwatch, and Battlegrounds. In particular, Gen. G's LoL team has established itself as a prestigious team by winning the 2023 LCK Spring Season finals in April, defeating T1.
At the sponsorship signing ceremony held on the 1st at the Gen.G Esports headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Jung Su-heon, head of LG Uplus Consumer Division, professional gamer Chovy, Arnold Hur, CEO of Gen.G Esports, and other representatives from both companies attended to celebrate the signing of the sponsorship contract.

Gen. G is also engaged in various activities beyond gaming, including education, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives, and innovative partnerships.
LG Uplus decided to enter into a sponsorship agreement by focusing on Gen. G's esports fandom and global brand value. First, both parties will promote LG Uplus's services through digital content operated by players and the team (YouTube, AfreecaTV), and raise brand awareness through character marketing using Gen. G and the players' intellectual property (IP), as well as logos on Gen. G LoL team uniforms.
Additionally, they plan to hold a League of Legends tournament with the Gen. G fandom and produce collaborative content and merchandise featuring LG Uplus's representative character 'MOONO'.
