The grandfather of Jeong Yujeong (23), who is accused of murdering a peer woman and disposing of the body, apologized to the victim and the bereaved family, saying, "It is the fault of raising her poorly."

According to MBC on the 2nd, Jeong Yujeong's grandfather, Mr. A, stated, "I want to apologize a hundred times to the bereaved family for the fault of raising my granddaughter poorly... That is how I feel."

Mr. A said, "(My granddaughter) had a civil service written exam on the 10th of next month. She was studying at a reading room and library. (But) something I could never have imagined happened."

Jeong Yujeong is known to have lived alone with her grandfather after being separated from her parents a long time ago. After graduating from high school, she lived without a special job and prepared for the civil service exam.

The police held a personal information disclosure review committee the day before and disclosed Jeong Yujeong's identity. The committee stated, "The seriousness and brutality of the crime are recognized, and the necessity for public interest such as the preventive effect on similar crimes is deemed significant."

Jeong Yujeong is accused of visiting the home of a peer woman, Ms. B, living in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, on May 26, killing her with a weapon, dismembering and disposing of the body. Jeong Yujeong and Ms. B did not know each other, and it was found that they met through a tutoring brokerage app two days before the crime.

Jeong Yujeong approached Ms. B by pretending to be a parent and was found to have worn a school uniform to Ms. B's house, pretending to be a student. After killing Ms. B, Jeong Yujeong attempted to dispose of the body by the Nakdong River, but was caught after a suspicious taxi driver reported it. The police sent Jeong Yujeong to the prosecution on the 2nd.
