GH Holds 'Nest Building' Event on the 2nd at Doram Neighborhood Park in Gwangju
Students from the 6th grade at Yeokdong Elementary School in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, are taking a commemorative photo after attending the new house installation event hosted by Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) on the 2nd.
View original imageGyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) held a birdhouse installation event on the 2nd at Doram Neighborhood Park in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province (Yeokdong 178 area, Gwangju-si).
The event was planned with the purpose of securing habitats for wild animals.
On this day, GH prepared specialized birdhouses for small birds such as the varied tit, together with about 30 participants including 6th-grade students from Yeokdong Elementary School in Gwangju and bird experts.
The students and bird experts selected about 30 suitable trees according to ecological characteristics and installed birdhouses on those trees.
Kim Mi-young, principal of Yeokdong Elementary School, conveyed the significance of the event, saying, "In the situation where the climate crisis and global warming are intensifying, it was a meaningful opportunity for students to directly participate in ecological restoration activities and to reflect on the natural environment."
