Gwanak-gu Operates Lunchbox Support Project Sharing Warm Meals with Young Small Business Owners
About 30 Young Small Business Owner Companies Selected to Supply Lunchboxes... Youth Deliver to Over 300 Vulnerable Households
Triple Effect: Supporting Young Small Business Owners, Sharing Meals with Vulnerable Groups, and Creating Delivery Jobs
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is operating a lunchbox support project for young small business owners that helps increase their sales and provides lunchboxes to socially vulnerable groups.
The district assists young small business owners facing business difficulties by boosting their sales, shares meals with vulnerable groups such as socially isolated single-person households, and provides jobs by employing economically challenged youth as delivery workers.
Last year, a total of 30 young small business owner companies participated, supporting 400 households with lunchboxes and receiving positive feedback from participants.
The district selected five comprehensive social welfare centers in the area as project executing agencies and is recruiting local young small business owner companies and delivery workers to deliver lunchboxes.
Eligible participants are young small business owner companies located in Gwanak-gu whose representatives are aged 19 to 39, capable of manufacturing and supplying single-portion lunchboxes (including snacks and meal replacements).
About 300 vulnerable households in need of lunchbox support will be selected from basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, and those recommended by local community service centers, with lunchbox delivery starting in July.
