Samsung Products Upcycling and Use of Recycled Materials
Samsung Electronics announced on the 1st that it will hold the upcycling and recycling contest, 'Recreate Design Challenge,' from the 31st of last month until the 19th of next month.
The contest is being held on the global design media website 'Dezeen,' which records an average of 10 million views per month. There are two categories: designs that upcycle or reuse old Samsung products, and designs that utilize recycled materials applied to Samsung products. Anyone aged 18 or older can participate.
Samsung Electronics stated that judging will be based on four criteria: innovation, problem-solving ability, social and environmental impact, and human-centered design.
Notae Moon, President of Samsung Electronics Design Management Center, said, "Design can make our future more valuable," adding, "We hope everyone will join in making small but meaningful changes in daily life to create a sustainable future together."

Samsung Electronics plans to announce the shortlisted candidates in August and the final winners in October. The winning team will receive ?10,000 (approximately 16.4 million KRW), and two finalist teams will each receive ?4,000 (approximately 6.6 million KRW), totaling ?18,000 (approximately 29.6 million KRW) in prize money.
