Ulsan Bus Information Mobile App 'U-Bus' Gets Faster
Improved Usage Speed with Latest IT and Content Applications
Effective June 1, Relaunch Event Also Held
Ulsan City is revamping the ‘Ulsan Bus Information Mobile App (U-Bus)’ for the first time in 12 years.
On May 31, Ulsan City announced that starting June 1, the ‘existing app’ will be operated in parallel to minimize confusion among current users.
The ‘Ulsan Bus Information Mobile App’ is a service that allows citizens to check bus arrival times on their smartphones without having to go to the bus stop, and it has been in operation since 2011.
It is a popular public app with 70,000 downloads annually and up to 800,000 daily accesses.
The main updates include fixing the slow speed and various errors of the existing app, improving the interface by reflecting the latest IT technologies and trends, enhancing usage speed through system optimization, reflecting changes in transportation conditions such as transfers on the Donghae Nambu Line, and developing a boarding and alighting alarm service that notifies users when the bus departs from the previous stop.
The route-finding feature uses Kakao Map to provide directions to the destination, as well as information on which bus to take and arrival times.
Additionally, it includes traffic information, event announcements, and favorite destinations for visitors to Ulsan such as the 12 scenic spots of Ulsan, cultural heritage sites, and quick links to government offices.
From June 5 to 16, Ulsan City will conduct a satisfaction survey as part of a ‘revamp event’ and plans to send mobile coffee coupons worth 5,000 won to the first 300 participants.
