Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam to Host the 16th International Decasy Festival
Digital Poetry Contest Awards Ceremony and Academic Symposium Held
The Korea Digital Kas? Research Institute will hold the 16th Gyeongnam Goseong International Digital Kas? Festival from June 10 to 24, 2023, throughout Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province.
The opening ceremony of this International Digital Kas? Festival will take place at 2 p.m. on June 10 at the Goseong Museum. On the 11th, the 2023 Digital Kas? New Literary Award ceremony and the 4th Digital Kas? Academic Symposium under the theme "How Far Has Digital Kas? Come?" will be held at the Goseong Museum. Eighteen scholars will gather at the symposium to discuss the development direction of Digital Kas?.
During the festival, the 9th Digital Kas? Work Award (winner: poet Kim Yuseok) and the 6th Gyeongnam Goseong International Digital Kas? Contest award ceremonies will be held, and the winning works will be framed and exhibited.
Additionally, there will be a Digital Kas? exchange exhibition featuring artists from four countries?Korea, China, the United States, and Indonesia?as well as a Digital Kas? exchange exhibition for university students from Korea, India, and Indonesia, and a Goseong Citizen Digital Kas? exhibition featuring 50 local participants.
The Digital Kas? exhibitions and exchange exhibitions will be displayed from June 10 to 24 at the Goseong Museum and Sunam Yusuji Ecological Park, showcasing the works to many tourists.
The Digital Kas? Work Award has been established by the Korea Digital Kas? Research Institute since 2015 and is awarded annually. It selects one exemplary Digital Kas? work published within one year from the previous award date in the quarterly Digital Kas? journal by established poets, which represents the internationalization and model of Digital Kas?.
The winners of the first through eighth awards were poets Gong Gwanggyu, Kim Wangno, Song Chanho, Lee Ho, Lee Unjin, Lee Jeongrok, Kim Gyuseong, and Kim Namho, respectively.
Digital Kas? is a compound word of digital camera (dica) and poetry (si), capturing poetic inspiration found in nature or objects instantly by taking a photo and expressing it immediately with a short poetic phrase of five lines or fewer. Digital Kas? is a multimedia linguistic art that expands the category of poetry as a language art, consisting of instant capture, instant utterance, and instant communication, making it a comprehensive art form.

Digital Kas? began in 2004 as a local literary movement in Goseong, Gyeongnam, but has now established itself as a Korean Wave culture beyond Korea, centered on overseas Korean communities.
