Korea Railroad Opens Parking Building with 1,580 Spaces at Gwangju Songjeong Station
The parking building at Gwangju Songjeong Station will open at the end of this month.
Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 26th that the Gwangju Songjeong Station parking building will open at 9 a.m. on the 31st.

View original imageThe parking building, with 7 floors above ground, can accommodate 1,580 vehicles, nearly four times the capacity of the existing parking lot (401 spaces), which is expected to help alleviate parking difficulties around Songjeong Station.
The parking spaces are divided into 882 regular spaces, 494 expanded spaces, 48 spaces for the disabled, and 156 spaces exclusively for compact cars. The parking building is located to the left of Gwangju Songjeong Station.
The parking fee is 1,500 KRW for the first 30 minutes, with an additional charge of 500 KRW for every 10 minutes thereafter. A one-day pass costs 15,000 KRW. However, train passengers receive a 30% discount, and compact cars, eco-friendly vehicles, disabled persons, and veterans receive a 50% discount.

To enhance user convenience, KORAIL plans to install pre-payment machines, LED information display boards, and parking status boards in the parking building, and support vehicle entry and exit by adjusting traffic signal timings at the entrance and deploying guides.
