13-Time National Poetry Recitation Champion Kim Sook-hee Performs Traditional Poetry Recitation at Seoul National Gugak Center
Kim Sook-hee, an English teacher at Haenam Technical High School and a recitation artist, announced on the 26th that she participated in the Master Artisans and Master Dancers Exhibition, a traditional performance stage with Seoul citizens, held at the National Gugak Center Yeakdang in Seoul Arts Center.
Kim Sook-hee, an English teacher at Haenam Technical High School who is a 13-time national poetry recitation competition champion and the top multi-award winner in the national poetry recitation competition, recited a congratulatory poem in traditional poetry on her first stage.
Korea’s ‘Master Artisans and Master Dancers Exhibition’ is a high-level traditional arts stage that has continued for 34 years since its first performance at the National Gugak Center in November 1990 to carry on the legacy of Korean dance and music.
Kim Sook-hee, the recitation artist, is currently in her final year at Kyung Hee University Graduate School this summer, pursuing two master’s degrees and aiming to obtain two doctorates in both literature and cultural arts, continuing her academic journey.
Recitation artist Kim said, “I am spreading poetry recitation from various perspectives, based on the academization, performance, and globalization of poetry recitation, and I am working as a teacher with minimal and limited activities.”
