The Air Force announced on the 25th that Yoon Eun-gi, chairman of the Korea Collaboration Promotion Association, donated a total of 100 million won to the Haneul Sarang Scholarship Foundation, which supports scholarships for the children of fallen pilots.
Chairman Yoon, a former Air Force officer, has been donating 10 million won annually since 2011 when he was the director of the Central Officials Training Institute. After retiring from the Air Force, Yoon was appointed as an honorary professor at the Air Force University and gave over 100 lectures to Air Force units. He also served as an advisor for Air Force policy development. In 2011, he was appointed an honorary pilot of the Air Force and received awards such as the Air Force Distinguished Person (Air Force Headquarters, 2014) and Proud Airman (Air Force Veterans Association, 2015).

View original imageOn this day, at the Air Force Headquarters, Chairman Yoon received a plaque of appreciation from Air Force Chief of Staff Jung Sang-hwa. He expressed regret that he had to skip donations for two years due to COVID-19, despite having collected lecture fees annually for donations.
He emphasized, "Just seeing the Republic of Korea Air Force making remarkable progress fills my heart with pride. However, we must not forget that this growth was made possible by the dedication and sacrifice of pilots, and we must take care of their children until the very end."

Established in 2010, the Air Force Haneul Sarang Scholarship Foundation is a public scholarship foundation involving active-duty, reserve Air Force personnel, and ordinary citizens to support the children of fallen pilots.
