"Seeking Talents to Shine on the Global Stage" SK On, Hiring New Employees
Recruitment of 26 Entry-Level Positions in R&D, Engineering, and Management Support Departments
SK On is launching a recruitment drive for new employees. This comes just six months after conducting new employee recruitment at the end of last year.
On the 25th, SK On announced that it will conduct a "rolling recruitment for new employees" through its official recruitment website until the 6th of next month. The recruitment fields include a total of 26 positions across three sectors: ▲Research and Development ▲Engineering ▲Management Support.
SK On is seeking talent with global work capabilities suitable for the battery industry, which has many overseas production bases in the US and Europe and is heavily influenced by the global economic environment. The company plans to move away from a specification-centered evaluation method and focus intensively on verifying applicants' job competencies.
Separately, SK On is also conducting a selection process for the "R&D Doctoral Industry-Academic Scholarship" until the 4th of next month. The recruitment fields cover 21 research areas in five sectors: ▲Advanced and Material Development ▲Advanced Process Development ▲Cell Development ▲System Development ▲Next-Generation Battery Development. The final successful candidates will work at the Daejeon Battery Research Institute.
The selection process for new employees and industry-academic scholarship recipients is the same. Applicants who pass the document screening will undergo written and interview tests conducted online, followed by a recruitment medical examination before final acceptance. The announcement of final successful candidates will be made in August for new hires and next month for scholarship recipients.
SK On has shown the fastest growth rate among battery companies, with sales doubling every year over the past five years and rising from 9th place in global market share in 2019 to 5th place last year. In particular, it boasts overwhelming technological prowess, having won the prestigious "CES 2023" Best Innovation Award and the Edison Awards in the R&D field.
The number of SK On employees increased from about 1,500 at the end of 2021 to around 3,000 by the end of last year. New employee recruitment has been conducted three times last year alone since the company's founding in October 2021. This year, in addition to this rolling recruitment, a second half new employee recruitment is also under consideration.
Interest from job seekers is also high. At the battery industry exhibition "InterBattery 2023" held by SK On in March, the employment counseling booth attracted more than twice the number of pre-registered job seekers.
