Dongdaemun-gu Youth Policy 'Participation' & 'Companionship'
Agreement with Three Local Universities (Kyung Hee, University of Seoul, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) ... Expecting Activation of Youth Participation
‘DDM Youth Startup Center Unicorn’ Opens, Supporting Resident Companies with Growth Management and Startup Consulting
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced that on the 23rd, it signed a business agreement with three local universities (Kyung Hee University, University of Seoul, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) to activate youth participation in the establishment and implementation of youth policies and to enhance policy efficiency.
The agreement includes ▲establishing a cooperative system for promoting youth policies and collecting opinions ▲mutual cooperation to revitalize youth culture through planning and promoting various youth events ▲building a youth policy network for gathering opinions during the policy formulation stage.
Based on this business agreement, the district plans to take a step closer to becoming ‘Dongdaemun-gu where youth gather’ through mutual cooperation with young people.
This year, Dongdaemun-gu is promoting youth-tailored projects such as ‘Support for Youth Employment Qualification Acquisition Activities,’ ‘Youth Employment Haedream,’ and ‘Youth Employment and Startup Academy.’
On the same day, on the 2nd floor of the station area youth housing (46 Mangu-ro), the ‘DDM Youth Startup Center Unicorn’ opened. The name is inspired by the term ‘unicorn company,’ which refers to a startup that has achieved great success, expressing the hope that young entrepreneurs will grow and succeed like unicorn companies.
The DDM Youth Startup Center is a space for the future planning of Dongdaemun-gu youth, equipped with startup spaces for resident companies, meeting rooms, studios, and community spaces. It will promote various support projects to strengthen the capabilities of young entrepreneurs, including △growth management of resident companies ▲youth startup counseling and consulting ▲operation of startup support programs.
The application period for resident companies is from May 18 to June 1. For application methods and required documents, please check the Dongdaemun-gu website or contact the DDM Youth Startup Center Unicorn.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “Based on the agreement made today, we will establish youth policies that practically help youth entrepreneurship and job seeking through regular communication with young people and operate the ‘DDM Youth Startup Center,’ becoming a Dongdaemun-gu that works together with youth.”
