Sharing Opinions through Resident Proposal Discussions, Open Chat Rooms, and YouTube Live Streaming
Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held the 3rd session of ‘2023 On-Site District Mayor’s Office Talk (TALK) Let’s Speak Openly’ on the theme of ‘Community’ at Seoul Seongbuk Media Culture Maru on the 22nd.
About 300 residents living in apartment complexes in Seongbuk-gu participated along with Mayor Lee Seung-ro and related department heads. They had a communication session to listen to each other’s opinions and find solutions together to ‘revitalize apartment complex communities.’
Before the official start, Mayor Lee Seung-ro energized the atmosphere by successfully creating an acrostic poem with the word ‘Community,’ the discussion topic. He conveyed his commitment to actively work on-site to revitalize the community, raising residents’ expectations. Additionally, a time was arranged for participants to shake hands and greet each other, delivering the message that ‘We are all neighbors.’
Following this, discussions were held on six resident proposals received in advance both online and offline. The agenda included various topics such as support for activating apartment complex clubs, holding joint events for apartment complexes, visiting resident education, and mindfulness programs. Among these, the joint events for resident harmony between apartment complexes will be pursued through active consultation between administration and residents in consideration of safety issues.
After the discussion on resident proposals, a Q&A session allowed for hearing more diverse stories from residents. Various on-site questions related to apartment complex communities, such as support for librarian training in apartment libraries and improvement of security office environments, continued, extending the scheduled time well beyond two hours. This demonstrated the high level of residents’ interest in the community.
Meanwhile, an ‘Open Chat Room’ was operated simultaneously during the on-site district mayor’s office session. Participants freely presented various opinions, enabling active real-time communication.
Meanwhile, ‘2023 On-Site District Mayor’s Office Talk (TALK) Let’s Speak Openly’ is operated as a ‘Themed On-Site District Mayor’s Office,’ moving away from the previous method of operating by neighborhood, setting five major themes: child happiness, youth, community, welfare, and resident autonomy, where the district mayor and residents engage in in-depth discussions.
The themes of child happiness, youth, and community have been completed, and upcoming sessions on ▲welfare (5/23) and ▲resident autonomy (5/25) will be held at the Dream Light Theater inside Seoul Seongbuk Media Culture Maru.
