"The Reason for Quitting Part-Time Jobs Is Not Money... 'Unfair Working Conditions'"
Reason for Part-Timer Resignation: 'Work Environment' Over 'Salary'
'Harmonious Work Atmosphere' Needed for Long-Term Employment
A survey revealed that Generation Z part-time workers decide to quit due to unreasonable working conditions such as work intensity and methods.
On the 23rd, Albacheonguk, a part-time job portal, announced the results of a resignation-related survey conducted on 1,854 Generation Z part-time workers (those born from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s) who have experience or are currently working part-time.
When Generation Z part-time workers were asked about the moment they considered quitting or changing part-time jobs, the most common response was "feeling that the pay is low compared to the work" (43.2%).
In response to the question about the "decisive reason for quitting a part-time job," "dissatisfaction with work intensity, methods, and environment" (24.7%) was ranked first.
Additionally, Generation Z part-time workers were found to decide to quit for reasons such as ▲influence of studies or main job (19.1%) ▲interpersonal relationships with managers and colleagues (16.7%) ▲health issues such as stress (16.0%).
Regarding the pay issue, which was cited as a cause for considering quitting, only 7.6% responded that it was the reason for actually quitting, indicating that it does not have a significant impact on the decision to resign.
Meanwhile, when all Generation Z part-time workers who participated in this survey were asked about the shortest period they worked at a part-time job, 7 out of 10 (69.5%) answered "less than 3 months."
Responses of "less than a week" or "quit immediately after one day of work" were also recorded at 10.7% and 10.9%, respectively.
The most important factor for long-term employment of six months or more was "harmonious work atmosphere" (40.9%).
