3 PM on the 23rd at City Hall, District/County/Related Agencies and Departments
Inspection of Beach Operation and Management Following Full-Scale Return to Normal Life
Busan City will hold the ‘2023 Beach Operation Report Meeting’ at 3 p.m. on the 23rd in the large conference room on the first floor of City Hall, attended by district and county offices, related organizations, and relevant departments to review and inspect the operation plans in preparation for the opening of beaches in the Busan area.
This report meeting was organized to ensure safety management by each beach management authority (district and county offices) in anticipation of the concentration of beach visitors due to the full-scale recovery of daily life, as the COVID-19 crisis level is eased from ‘Severe’ to ‘Alert’ starting in June.
At the meeting, operation plans including traffic and security, facility improvements and maintenance such as restrooms and shower rooms, and convenience facility rentals such as lodging, food, parasols, and tubes will be reviewed and prepared to ensure smooth opening and operation.
In addition, the city will operate various programs reflecting the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ beach operation and evaluation plans.
Aiming for ‘themed beach operation’ that links the unique characteristics of Busan’s beaches with surrounding tourist resources through leisure, healing, and experience programs, the city plans to run diverse programs such as ▲marine healing programs ▲Haeundae Spacing Out Contest ▲Dream Sunset Fountain Performance ▲Gwangalli M-Drone Light Show.
Yu Gyuwon, Director of the Tourism MICE Bureau of the city, said, “We expect many tourists to visit Busan’s beaches this year to enjoy various marine tourism,” adding, “We plan to diversify from the previous quarantine-centered beach operation to beaches that can be enjoyed year-round, restoring the vibrant image of Busan as an international tourist city.”
