Shinsegae Food announced on the 23rd that it has launched 'Yeonkkot Danpatppang,' a 100% plant-based bread made without milk, eggs, or butter, in celebration of Buddha's Birthday.

Yeonkkot Danpatppang, introduced by Shinsegae Food in collaboration with temple food expert Park Seong-hee, is a purely plant-based bakery item colored subtly with prickly pear powder and lotus leaf powder, filled with red bean paste. The sweetness of the red bean paste is toned down, and ground lotus seeds (yeonja) are added to enhance its health benefits. The shape features six petals symbolizing the six paramitas, the six virtues practiced in Buddhism.

Yeonkkot Danpatppang is sold as a set of four lotus-shaped well-being red bean breads. It is available for purchase until the 29th at bakery stores operated by Shinsegae Food within the Shinsegae Group, including 'The Menagerie,' as well as on SSG.com. The bakery stores offer a limited quantity of 108 sets.
