Through this agreement, Osstem Implant pledged sponsorship funds for the development of women's baseball and wished the national team good luck ahead of their participation in the '2023 3rd BFA Women's Baseball Asian Cup.'
This sponsorship was made possible as Choi Song-hee, a junior staff member of Osstem Implant's Interior Business Division, was selected as a member of the women's national baseball team. Since starting women's baseball club activities in 2016, Choi has balanced work and baseball with unwavering passion, ultimately representing the national team in 2020, 2022, and this year. She works at dental interior construction sites managed by Osstem Implant as part of the company's direct construction team. Choi trains and competes in baseball after work on weekdays and during weekends.
Choi said, "I am truly proud and grateful to wear the national team uniform with the honorable Taegeuk mark alongside the company's CI patch. I will do my best to deliver my best pitching at the Asian Cup at the end of this month and return to fully commit to my work at the company."
Um Tae-kwan, CEO of Osstem Implant, said, "Upon hearing that our employee was selected for the national team, I became interested in women's baseball and learned that they had not yet found a main sponsor, which led to our decision to support them. I sincerely hope the national team achieves great results on the international stage, elevates the status of Korean women's baseball, and receives more attention and love from the public."
Hwang Jeong-hee, President of the Korea Women's Baseball Federation, said, "We are very pleased to sign a sponsorship agreement with Osstem Implant. We hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand the base of women's baseball and become a good example of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG (environment, social, and governance) internalization through support of less popular sports."
Meanwhile, the women's national baseball team, led by manager Yang Sang-moon, is grouped with Japan, the Philippines, and others in the upcoming Asian Cup, competing for a spot in the World Baseball Cup scheduled for August. The team will depart for Hong Kong on the 24th, with their first game against Japan on the 26th.
