Seongnam City Recruits 237 University Students for Local Government Internship Program

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting 237 university students for a local government administration experience training program.

On the 22nd, Seongnam City announced that it will recruit 237 applicants who wish to participate in the "2023 Summer University Student Local Government Administration Experience Training" from the 24th of this month to the 2nd of next month, providing university students with an opportunity to explore career paths during their summer vacation.

Selected students will be assigned to city, district, and neighborhood offices, as well as public institutions, from July 5 to August 22, where they will experience administrative work five days a week, three hours a day (morning or afternoon).

During the training period, financial education and visits to large corporations will also be conducted.

Seongnam City will pay the trainees a daily allowance of 35,190 KRW for three hours of work, based on a living wage hourly rate of 11,730 KRW.

If trainees participate without missing a day for the entire 34 days of training, they will receive a total of 1,196,460 KRW.

Eligibility requires university students (including those on leave) who have been registered residents of Seongnam City for more than one year.

Applications can be submitted online through the Seongnam City website within the application period.

If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, priority will be given to recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, their children, lower-income groups, single-parent families, registered disabled persons, medical aid recipients under the Medical Care Assistance Act, employment support beneficiaries under laws related to national veterans, multi-child families, volunteers, and older applicants.
