Prime Minister Kishida evaluated that the G7 leaders' visit to Hiroshima, where the world's first atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945, to hear the voices of the atomic bomb survivors and issue a statement on nuclear disarmament, holds historic significance.
He emphasized, "To somehow avoid tragic consequences, it is necessary to steadily follow the path toward a future world without nuclear weapons."
Regarding the situation in Ukraine, Kishida stated, "As the G7, we will strive to bring about a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine as soon as possible," adding, "We will strengthen sanctions against Russia and enhance efforts to prevent sanctions evasion."
