Court Fines 60-Year-Old 5 Million Won for Distributing Flyers Asking 'Who Is Julie?'
The Seoul Northern District Court Criminal Division 11 (Presiding Judge Ban Jeong-mo) announced on the 19th that it sentenced Kim Mo (63), who was indicted for distributing leaflets containing false information about First Lady Kim Geon-hee during last year's presidential election, to a fine of 5 million won.
Kim claimed that he encountered related suspicions on YouTube channels such as 'Yeollin Gonggam TV' and came to believe them as facts.
The court stated, "It is difficult to consider such YouTube channels as authoritative institutions that express only objective truth," and did not accept Kim's claims.
